I'm passionate about investigating hematopoietic stem cells, the stem cells that develop into the various blood cell types, and the molecular pathways that control them. A stronger understanding of how these cells communicate and grow into their adult cell types will better allow us to use them in therapies. 

I trained in medicine at Peking University Health Science Center of China, started my research career at State University of New York Downstate Medical Center as a PhD student, and completed my postdoc training at University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.

As a faculty member at Philadelphia's Temple University, I started my independent laboratory with a K99/R00 career award in 2013 before joining the Coriell Institute for Medical Research in 2020.
